| Job Title: Executive Director | Revision Date: | Position Overview The Executive Director for the New Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce creates and maintains high value services for Chamber Members. This person will also serve as the representative of the Chamber to the community at-large. They will provide outreach to current and prospective members to guide and assist them in their business growth. The Executive Director must be capable of strengthening and expanding the regional alliances with strategic partners, key business, elected and educational leaders. Essential Job Functions Maintain complete and accurate membership list Maintain Chamber Website Manage financials in conjunction with treasurer Maintain all measurable data, past and present Provide updates at monthly Board Meetings Maintain Chamber’s social media pages…ex: Facebook & Twitter Send out general and board meeting reminders Process daily mail and mailings for special events Attend all meetings Work with Committees and Chairpersons for special events as needed Coordinate regular newsletters that includes subjects important to Chamber members Oversee all Chamber communications, including newsletters, press releases and marketing materials Serve as the spokesperson to all media on behalf of the Chamber Maintain and broaden the Chamber’s voice by promoting its objectives before associations, government agencies, community groups and the public Serve as liaison with other Chambers in the area and represent the Chamber at business and community functions Assist in coordinating events and meetings Requirements This position requires exceptional communication and organizational skills. The Executive Director is expected to maintain a high level of professional competency and have the ability to work with community leadership. This person is a self-starter who is motivated and able to work independently. The Executive Director will use a combination of skills such as communication, marketing, public relations and accounting. Other Skills/Abilities The Executive Director will be proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel as well as other programs such as Publisher and Quick Books. This person will be willing to attend necessary training for any additional software that would be necessary for the position. NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
